VALIDATION​

I experienced brain fog, painful intercourse, exhaustion and​ mood swings. My clothes became tight and uncomfortable, and​ I faced severe muscle and joint pain, increased hunger and​ cravings. The fatigue and pain made it impossible to exercise,​ all of which led to rapid weight gain. These symptoms began in​ my 40's while I was trying to be the ‘perfect’ mom, wife, and co​-worker. I felt I was failing everyone. After seeing countless​ doctors, I took a deep dive into health & wellness. With my​ newfound knowledge, I made the necessary changes and was​ able to regain my active life. Now I feel amazing!!​

ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Alyssa Burns, BSN, RN the founder of The Pause Paradise. After

experiencing life-changing challenges due to menopause, I recognized the

significant gap in medical education and support for women during this

transition. This realization ignited a fire inside me-pun intended! This passion

inspired the creation of the The Pause Paradise. I didn’t want other women to go

undiagnosed and suffer as long as I did. I wanted a nurturing space where women could feel ​heard and validated. At The Pause Paradise you will find current, evidence-based information ​on symptoms, hormone replacement information, nutritional support, and physical movement ​recommendations—a community where these topics can be openly discussed and shared. Here, ​you will gain knowledge and power to become your own best advocate.


With a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Liberty University, I’ve enjoyed 17 years providing ​patient education and care. In May 2023 I proudly excepted The Women’s Board of Cooper ​University Health Care Award for Excellence in Ambulatory Nursing. My journey took a turn ​with what felt like an overnight onset of severe musculoskeletal pain, brain fog, and weight gain. ​I am a, “need-to-know-the -root-cause” kind of girl, hence my deep dive into menopause ​education. Now, my commitment is to empower others to live their happiest, healthiest life with ​grace and vitality.


I find peace in nature, serenity in the love that surrounds me, and strive to build a beautiful ​balance in everything I do. I am here for you—let’s connect and make your menopause journey ​a positive experience.
